For Margarita Monday we’re bringing you another super awesome summertime drink that’s not a margarita at all. One of my favourite beach bloggers – Rum Shop Ryan – threw out another great boat drink last week and we mixed up a batch (or two) of these for a day by the pool! The last time we took his suggestion, we mixed up a batch of The Old Blue Chair. You’ll definitely want to check out RSR’s full post here, but on your way, mix up a batch of Summertime…
- 1oz Light Rum
- 1oz Dark Rum
- 1/2oz Triple Sec
- 2oz Lemonade
- 1oz OJ
- 1oz Cranberry Juice
- Splash Simple Syrup
- Splash Club Soda
Mixing Instructions: Shake all over ice except club soda. Strain into glass with ice. Top with club soda. Garnish with lemon wedge. Raise glass and toast.
There’s a lot going on there, but I guarantee it’s worth it. So much so, that after the first round, we mixed up a full pitcher. Inf fact, next time we have these, we’ll always just make a pitcher (just don’t add the club sode to the pitcher, add it after to pour). The directions above make two generous portions, so multiply accordingly.
And to take us out – here’s the inspiration behind the drink…
Kenny Chesney – Summertime
Thanks very much Ryan, we look forward to your next boat drink suggestion!
Stay thirsty my friends…
