We love our margaritas here at the Salted Rim. But every once in a while we like to stretch our wings a bit and try something new – like a Paloma, Sangrita or Horchata. Check out these fun drinks at the Huffington Post just in time for Cinco de Mayo…
Mexican Drink Recipes: Margaritas, Horchatas, Micheladas And More
With Cincode Mayo right around the corner, what better time than now to learn about the world of Mexican beverages? Most people stop their exploration with Margaritas, while others are slightly more adventurous and make it to Micheladas or palomas; and if you’ve lived in a city with a substantial Mexican community, you’ve most likely tried some version of aguasfrescas (non-alcoholic drinks) — horchata, tamarindo and Jamaica being some of the more popular flavors.
Here’s the recipe for the Combier Margarita:
- 3/4 ounce(s) lime juice
- 1 ounce(s) Combier Liqueur d’Orange, or any triple sec
- 1 1/2 ounce(s) silver tequila
- 1 lime wheel
- 1 orange wheel
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the lime juice, triple sec and tequila. Shake and strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with the citrus wheels and serve.
